What Pairs with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy?

Holiday meals are looked forward to all year long. Whether you are the one slaving away in the kitchen, preparing the grand meal or you are just a happy and willing guest of the feast, choosing the right wine to go with a traditional holiday meal can be tricky. The flavors in grandma’s honey ham or sweet potato casserole are big and bold and you need a wine that won’t compete with the mashed potatoes or get lost in the giblet gravy.

So, to help you pick just the right libation to bring to the holiday table, we have picked our 3 favorite Grinder’s Switch Winery wines to serve at Thanksgiving and Christmas. And if you are looking for a beverage that will stretch your budget and provide something that everyone will love at the table, scroll down for a delicious wine spritzer recipe courtesy of our friends over at Corsair Distillery (you can find them just down the hall from our Marathon Village location in Nashville, TN!)!

Switch Red

Bold and Sweet, just like your granny

Our Switch Red fits perfectly on any table and easily replaces your old Beaujolais stand by. Sweet and fruity with a touch of tartness on the finish, our Switch Red goes with everything from the honeyed ham to the pecan pie.

Ivory Mist

A middle-of-the-road that everyone will love

Our off-dry from the Cayuga grape, Ivory Mist is an easy drinker that won’t compete with the myriad of flavors on your plate. Ivory Mist has a touch of sweetness and a nice, crisp finish that keeps things light during a heavy meal. Bonus: Use a little in your giblet gravy to give it that something extra!

Three Eighty Two

Perfect for the dry wine drinkers

Make even the staunchest of dry red wine lovers happy with our delicious Three Eighty Two. Made from our Chambourcin grapes, Three Eighty Two is light enough to not overshadow the green bean casserole and bold enough to pair with Dad’s prime rib. The subtle blackberry notes makes this a great accompaniment to that box of chocolate covered cherries, too.
